GPAA Membership

I just sent in my money order for GPAA membership. I signed up for the "Buzzard Special" membership level, but I missed out on the special pricing by a day or two. I'm looking forward to getting their claims guide. They told me that they have "8 pages" of claims in Colorado... I don't know how many are on a "page". Chances are that there are one or two just west of Denver, and that will be somewhat convenient for me.

I have still not found a SPECK of gold...:no_ma: ... I'm planning on changing that real soon!

So what are the advantages of joining (from someone signing up, vs from their website)?

It's a good outfit. I was a member for a couple years back in the mid-90's but as it is close to a thousand miles to any good panning ground from where I live in the middle of the Michigan Basin it didn't pay for me. You are going to have fun.

My membership package came in. I got the "Buzzard Special" which includes a bunch of freebies (pan, snuffer, stickers), but the real thing I was after was information and access. I really like the bi-monthly magazine, and the claims guide is very thorough. With this membership I am given a card which permits me to prospect/mine on GPAA claims (about 9 in Colorado). Unfortunately none of them are very close to me. I might actually try some of them in Wyoming instead.

Been a lifer for several years now, out today with family, found about a dozen crawdads, a frog and, oh yeah some fine flour gold. Lots of fun, wife and daughter-in-law found lots of wild flowers to dig and bring home too. This was on a private location in Ohio no less.
